Our tour started out on 5/15 at one of our favorite churches, Eagle Point Community Bible Church! What a blessing to return to Medford and connect with many, whom after seeing us last time a few years ago have started ministries to the homeless, the elderly and at risk youth as a result of our sharing! Astounded and humbled!
After a long day of driving, Rebecca and I headed to Veronica's Home Of Mercy in San Bernardino. A shelter for homeless women and their children, we had a powerful time of ministering in concert and sharing God's goodness of recovery and restoration out of abuse.
On 5/19, we headed to Yorba Linda where we did a house concert / night of worship with guest artist Faith Hunt! We definitely want to do more of these! Sometimes you just can't enter into worship in a 15 min timeframe. To see folks rest and drink in His presence was both fulfilling and inspiring!
On 5/20 we headed to Chatsworth CA to do our Six Feet Down Concert Friday night. I love packing out the house! This concert format is different from all the others we do in that I share more of my story by sharing the stories behind each of the songs. One woman shared, "I got your CD as a gift from a friend. It has meant so much to me these past several months but hearing the stories behind the songs takes them so much deeper. Thank you for sharing your life and the hope you have with us. Powerful!"
Saturday, 5/21 we did our Six Feet Down Day Retreat where I covered the Tough Questions Survivors Face and what God's Word says as well as a Practical Self-Care Tool Kit For The Healing Journey. The day started with relfective worship, moved into teaching and closed out with a powerful / reflective art project.
On Sunday, 6/12, we will be taking a team of 7 back to South Fork Prison in Tillamook Forest. God has opened incredible doors here and we are excited at how God is shaping the hearts of the inmates and our volunteers. In addition to the band, our friend Sarah shared her story, and Tyler and Caitlyn did our sound. When we returned, Tyler said, " I'm hooked! I want to go again!" Pray for God's continued work as we reach the broken with His mercy, power and saving grace.
