Sometimes, we feel a drought in our lives. We long to see God more fully, but the pressures of life are like the heat of the desert. We wonder if He cares or if there is something wrong with us. God promises He will never leave us or forsake us. But there are seasons where it can feel dark and it's hard to see what's ahead. If we are looking for God in the light - in the things we see and understand - we might miss Him in this place. But God is in both places. It just looks different. I encourage you to stop wishing for the mountain top and let Him meet you here. He has treasures waiting for you - like the delicate vegetation on the valley floor, they are sometimes hidden. You will reach the mountaintop again...But for now, rest in the mystery of God - in the things you don't see but He does.
